Music is my Day One. When I was ALL IN on playing in bands, I found a huge overlap with the indie comics world. I started putting out minis and selling them at shows. My attention ended up shifting to comics and ultimately books, but music is what got me into sharing stories and possessed with a DIY spirit that taught me that you don't have to ask permission to put your ideas out in the world. Up the punx, right? Right? Anyway, all of the stuff shown here & more can be found on my bandcamp.com page. GO GO GO! Download 'em!
THE NEEDIES, ah, the needies. My longest-term band. Anti-folk/post-punk/power-pop. Two-steppy, superfast, fun stuff. I sang and played guitar (and trumpet, accordion, keyboards, etc. on recordings) and my pal Shaun Jones played drums and percussion. We mastered the art of compact band travel. I miss it sometimes. Some of the songs have... PG-13 lyrics.
OMEGA MONSTER PATROL! is/was a musical performance art project about a special unit from another galaxy and time that was all about, well, yeah, patrolling for monsters. The live show had a robot with a human (TV) face, a dancing furry monster named Tina, costumes, and a light show. Everything was synched up and run using a DVD, a power strip loaded with switches, way too many cables, and some duct tape and safety pins.
